Prawn Patato Curry Odia Recipe (Chungudi Aloo Tarakari)

Prawn Patato Curry Odia Recipe (Chungudi Aloo Tarakari)

Ingredients for making Prawn Patato Curry:

  • Prawns - 500gm medium size
  • Potato - 2 medium sizes boiled and cut into cube sizes
  • Onions - 2 medium sizes coarsely grind
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes - 1medium size chopped
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder - 2tsp
  • Cooking Oil
  • Salt 
  • Coriander leaves

Steps to making Prawn Patato Curry:

  1. First, clean the prawns properly. (Remove unwanted stuff, eg legs, covers) 
  2. Marinate the cleaned prawns with adding salt and turmeric powder. Keep aside this for 10-15 mins.
  3. Then heat oil in a nonstick pan and fry those marinated prawns till its color changed to brown. Take all prawns on one plate.
  4. In the same pan add some more cooking oil and fry all potato cubes till its color changed to brown and keep aside.
  5. Then take some oil in a pan and add onion paste and fry it for 4-5 mins.
  6. Then add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, chili powder, Garam Masala powder, and fry for 4-5 mins on medium heat.
  7. Then add chopped tomatoes, salt into it, and fry it till oil separates from the masala.
  8. Then add fried prawn, potatoes, and fry it for 2-3 mins. Then add water, and mix well.
  9. Now Cover the pan and cook on medium heat for 10-12 mins.
  10. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti/rice.
