PUBG Among 118 mobile apps banned by the Indian government
The Indian government has banned 118 Chinese apps, including the popular
game PUBG MOBILE. The government has taken this decision in the wake of the
Chinese uprising in Ladakh The move comes amid India's sovereignty,
integrity, defense, and security.
According to the report, there are about 33 million active PUBG players in
India About 13 million users play the game daily
According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Section
69A of the Information Technology Act prohibits mobile gaming along with
other apps, which is why they are detrimental to India's sovereignty,
integrity, and defense.
The move is said to protect the interests of millions of Indian mobile and internet users. The Home Ministry's Cybercrime Center has also recommended that the "evil apps" be stopped.
The ministry said there had been a number of allegations of theft and
unauthorized sending of user data to servers outside India using the misuse
of some mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms.
