The Kolkata Knight Riders, who have won the IPL twice, will be aiming to improve upon their previous year's performance as they kick off their IPL 2023 journey against Punjab Kings led by Shreyas Iyer on April 1 at Mohali. Check out KKR's schedule for IPL 2023.
Placed in Group A with Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants, the Kolkata franchise finished in the seventh position in the 2022 season. However, significant changes have been made in the KKR setup for IPL 2023.

Highly-rated Chandrakanth Pandit has taken over as the new head coach, replacing Brendon McCullum. Additionally, the franchise has brought back Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and welcomed Litton Das, his national teammate, to the team.
In terms of the bowling department, KKR has added former South African and current Namibian national David Weise to their squad and traded Lockie Ferguson from Gujarat Giants. The franchise has also traded Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Gujarat Titans and Shardul Thakur from Delhi Capitals into their squad.
