Airtel, a leading telecommunications services provider in India, has launched its 5G services in five new locations, namely Bhawanipatna, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Paradeep, and Bargarh. The company's 5G services are already available in eight other cities, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Rourkela.
Airtel is rolling out its 5G Plus services in phases as it continues to expand its network, with customers using 5G-enabled devices able to access the network at no additional cost until the rollout is more extensive.
Anupam Arora, CEO of Bharti Airtel for Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, saying that the new service will enable customers to experience network speeds that are up to 20-30 times faster than current 4G speeds.
Airtel is expanding its network in the coming days to enable more customers in these cities to access its high-speed 5G services. The launch of Airtel 5G Plus is expected to stimulate economic growth in India by revolutionizing various sectors, including education, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, mobility, and logistics.
Over the past year, Airtel has showcased the potential of 5G through various powerful use cases, including India's first private 5G network at the BOSCH facility in Bengaluru and partnering with Mahindra & Mahindra to make its Chakan manufacturing facility India's first 5G-enabled auto manufacturing unit.
