Odia Movie DAMaN Declared as Tax-Free in Odisha

 According to officials, the Odisha government on Friday stated that the recently released Odia movie "DAMaN" would be tax-free in the State. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik decided to grant tax-free status to the Babushaan Mohanty-starring film, which was released on November 4.

The movie "DAMaN," which highlights the State government's malaria prevention program, is about the humane example a young doctor has set by providing medical care in the outlying areas of the Malkangiri district.

The Chief Minister expressed the hope that all government workers, including those in the health department, would adopt the attitude of selfless service as a result of watching the film.

The chief minister of Odisha has made it clear that he believes a healthy and conscious society can emerge if the state's various departments cooperate during the Covid epidemic.

It takes place in 2015. Young doctor Dr. Siddharth Mohanty is assigned to the isolated Malkangiri district of Odisha, which has 151 villages but is notorious for the dominance of Naxals and lacks basic amenities. 

The character is played by Bollywood actor Babushaan Mohanty. The first Odia film to do so is DAMan, which received a 9.6/10 rating on IMDb. The Ollywood film, which previously dominated the small screens in Odisha, will now be released in Hindi, and dubbing for the same is in progress. The masterpiece is produced by Deepndra Samal under the J P Motion Pictures banner and directed by Debi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya.
