Up to 36 additional police stations could soon become active in Odisha. Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, has given his approval to the plan to build new police stations throughout the state.
In order to give the public better policing services, the decision to build a new police station was made in light of the population growth as well as other administrative considerations. The proposed new police stations will be built after splitting up the current police stations and modernizing a number of police outposts, according to official sources.
For these additional 36 police stations, the Odisha government has also sanctioned the establishment of 563 new positions, including Inspectors and constables.
