Japan has shown interest to set up industries in Odisha.Consul General of Japan in Kolkata Masayuki Taga, who met Odisha Industries Minister Ananta Das at his office today said the Japanese are interested to set up industries in East India and have chosen Odisha for this.
He said, more than 1,000 Japanese industrial units are in operation in different parts of India, majority of them are located in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi.
But, now Japan wanted to set up industries in Eastern region of the country and has chosen Odisha for the purpose.
"India and Japan have a very close social, economical and cultural relationship and Japan wanted to strengthen it further by investing in Odisha" he added.
