Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Fani was the strongest tropical cyclone to strike the Odisha. While the Odisha government has managed to keep the death toll low by undertaking evacuation on a war footing, many areas have been severely affected by the cyclone.

More than 30 lakh electricity consumers in the state were affected, said SRC Bishnupada Sethi.“According to preliminary reports, Cyclone Fani damaged power infrastructure worth more than Rs 1,200 crore. Electricity to emergency services will be restored by Sunday evening,”

Amazon: E-commerce company Amazon has initiated a donation drive on its platform to rehabilitate the livelihoods of disaster-hit families. You can make a contribution by scanning the QR code using your Amazon app or make an UPI payment here.

: Foodtech unicorn Zomato has collaborated with Feeding India and announced a relief drive to provide succour for victims in the cyclone-affected area and pave the way for public participation. Click here.

ActionAid: According to its website, the NGO has been working on the ground to evacuate affected people and assist in relief efforts. ActionAid also allows NRIs and foreign citizens to make donations through their website. Donate here.
