The joint venture between Tata Power and the government of Odisha, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), has today issued a warning against con artists who pose as TPSODL employees and are engaged in unauthorized bill collection.
In the Chirikipada region of the Polasara sub-division under the Purusottampur division, the company has filed a FIR against a person. This guy was using a fraudulent mPOS machine to collect money from clients without getting permission from TPSODL. Customers were not given receipts with consumer numbers or the TPSODL logo on them.
All consumers are urged by TPSODL to exercise extreme caution if they encounter such a fraudster. The business recommends customers pay all bills using only authorized methods, where they receive a valid receipt following each transaction. All complaints can be directed to TPSODL's dedicated 24-hour Toll-Free No. 1800-345-6797/1912 at this number. The business advises all of its clients to report any person who requests bill payments without such phony documentation right away.
Mr. Arvind Singh, Chief Executive Officer, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Ltd said “We are keeping a close watch on all such activities of fraud. We want our customers to follow authorized-only channels or platforms for bill payments. We would also urge our customers to avoid paying bills without a proper TPSODL receipt and report such matters immediately to our officers”
