The India Meteorological Department anticipated that two different low-pressure systems could bring additional rainy periods to Odisha in the upcoming two weeks (IMD). According to the Regional Meteorological Center of the IMD in Bhubaneswar, the state could experience twin low-pressure systems in the next two weeks.
By September 8, the first low pressure system may emerge in the west-central Bay of Bengal and the surrounding northwest Bay of Bengal, and between September 9 and September 15, the second low pressure system may form.
Umashankar Dash, a meteorological scientist at the Met Centre, said that after a few days of oppressive heat and humidity, Odisha may experience an upsurge in rainfall beginning on September 5.
The current monsoon trough will remain north of its typical location through September 5, according to the weather office. After that, it will move south with the potential for the development of a cyclonic circulation/low-pressure area across the western and adjacent northwest regions of the Bay of Bengal.
With its effects, Odisha and the majority of the rest of India, with the exception of northeast India, would see mild monsoon conditions. After that, central and northern India's peninsula will experience an upsurge in rainfall activity.
In contrast to its average of 931.9 mm, the seasonal cumulative rainfall that was experienced in Odisha from June 1 to September 2 was 992 mm. Six districts experienced excessive rainfall during the time period, while the other 24 received normal amounts.
