According to Wikipedia, Aarogya Setu is a COVID-19 tracking mobile application developed by the National Informatics Centre that comes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
Aarogya Setu app developed to help citizens identify their risk of contracting COVID-19 (coronavirus), and keep a user informed in case s/he has crossed paths with someone who has tested positive. The tracking is done through a Bluetooth & location-generated social graph, which can show your interaction with anyone who has tested positive. The app is available on both Google Play (for Android phones) and Apple App Store. It is available in 11 languages including English.
Steps to Download and use the Aarogya Setu app as follows

- After installing, select the language and click ‘Next’.
- Click on the ‘Register Now’ option.
- Read all terms and conditions, you have to click on the ‘I Agree’ button to allow App to proceed further.
- Then, you have to enter your working Mobile number.
- An OTP will be sent to your mobile number for verification, Use that OTP to verify your mobile number.
- Fill up the provided Form or Skip the option to proceed.
- Choose your gender from the options given.
- Enter your full name, then age, and then profession, as asked.
- You'll be asked about your foreign travel history in the last 30 days. Give the appropriate answer. Your foreign travel history, if any, will be matched with that of those who've tested positive, with the help of the ICMR database.
- Find the details of COVID-19 Help Centers here and do a self-assessment test clicking the options mentioned there. After providing all the necessary details, the app will let you know about the chances of your infection risk.
- The Aarogya Setu app will also be helpful for knowing ‘COVID-19 Do’s and Don’ts’ and ‘Safety measures against COVID-19’.
After you have installed Aarogya Setu on your phone, it will detect other nearby smartphones that also have the app installed. It can then figure out the risk of infection based on sophisticated parameters if any of these contacts are tested positive.
