Ankita is from the temple city Bhubaneswar has made a name for her self in the glamour field. Ankita is a combination of beauty with brain. She has completed B.Tech Degree (Electronics and Telecommunication) from Silicon Institute of Technology (2004-2008 batch).
Ankita Mahapatra shifted to Mumbai for a better career in modeling. She first came to limelight when it was declared that Ankita Mahapatra is the Gladrags Mega model 2009 winner. After that Ankita won Miss India East 2011. Besides this, she has also won the Gitanjali Most Beautiful subtitle.
Ankita Mohapatra is the only Odia girl from Bhubaneswar, who has bagged the Femina Miss Bollywood Diva title in the Miss India Contest-2011. In spite of being very good in studies, she was always attracted to glamour.
Ankita is the daughter of Bhubaneswar based Dr. Saudamini Mohapatra and Sangram Mohapatra, Ankita had been a bright student throughout her school and college career. She completed her early School life at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She has completed her B.Tech Engineering degree from the Silicon Institute of Technology (SIT).
You have won the Femina Miss Bollywood diva title. How does it feel?
- I am really excited. I had Bollywood on my mind somewhere and that dream will soon come true.
Do you agree that Miss India has changed your life forever?
- Every person has individual qualities and is extremely special. They just fail to realize it. For me, the realization came after I stepped into Miss India. I have got my goal and found my niche. I feel more polished as a person and the newly found celebrity status is a bonus.
You missed the main Miss India crown by a whisker. How does it feel?
- I made it to the Top 5 so I am a little disappointed. However, I have won the Bollywood Diva title and it's the time to move on. I truly believe in the statement, 'Whatever happens, happens for good.'
Have you faced the camera ever before?
- No, I haven't and I don't even have any acting training. I am grateful to the jury for choosing me and will give my best shot to prove myself.
Did your family support you in this journey?
- Yes, my parents have always supported me. They were present at the event and they were more nervous than me. I have made them proud and they are busy attending phone calls from all relatives, friends, and acquaintances since yesterday.
Something that you were eagerly awaiting to do post the Miss India pageant?
- I want to gorge on loads of chocolates now!
